Delete your DailyDos account and data

This page explains how to have your DailyDos account and its data deleted — inside the app, or on request if you can no longer reach it.

In the app

  1. Open Settings in DailyDos.

  2. Go to the “Synchronisation” section.

  3. Choose “Delete account” and confirm the prompt.

Deletion happens immediately. The account is not blocked or suspended but removed; there is no way to restore it.

Without access to the app

If you no longer have the app installed or can no longer sign in, an informal message to the address given in the legal notice is enough. Deletion then takes place within one month under Art. 12(3) GDPR.

What is deleted

Deleting your account also removes your database on the server, the consent record and the usage events. In settings under “Delete account”.

What outlives the deletion for a while

The local database stays on your own devices: it belongs to you, and the app keeps working there without an account. It cannot return to any server. If you want to remove that as well, uninstall the app or clear the site data in your browser.

  • Logs: Operational logs 30 days, security-relevant logs containing IP addresses 90 days.

  • Backups: Two layers on top of each other: the backup run keeps seven daily and four weekly states, and the storage space itself holds every state already removed there for a further ten days in snapshots of its own. What is counted are backup runs and not days: in regular operation a deletion during operation reaches every backup after six weeks at the latest; if backup runs fail, correspondingly later.
